I have just started getting a 4261 error when I try to print from my Vista machine - local. This happens in BR 4.18e.
Other programs are printing OK Word, MyEdit, EditpPadPro.
This started when I tried to print a program that has an embedded [PIC( statement for a back ground picture using a variable. I received a message that the picture parameter was invalid (which of course it was because it referenced the name of a variable and not an actual graphic file). Every BR print job that I try to print since that error I receive the 4261.
I have rebooted the machine and still get the error.
I have looked at all the printers and none have any visible unprinted jobs in the queue.
If I change to another printer in preview:/Select I still get the same 4261 error.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for the help.

[BR_forum] Error 4261 in Vista
Found the problem.
I set %TEMP% as my SPOOLPATH in WBCONFIG.sys. For some reason the spool files were not being deleted and I had accumulated 98 of the little darlings.
I did not think that this would affect WIN: print jobs, but it apparently does. After I navigated to the %TEMP% directory and eliminated the WBSPL*.* files the printing started working again.

[BR_forum] Error 4261 in Vista
Way to go George… now that I hear your solution it all comes back to me.. we hit that back a long time ago on our old AIX machines that yes WBSPL only goes to 99 before you run out of slots and so we had to setup a cron to clear our the temp directory every once and awhile.

[BR_forum] Error 4261 in Vista
I was going to say, 4261 is a problem with BR creating the WBSPL files.
If you are terminating programs (Ctrl-Alt-Delete), this often happens.
